Solstice – June 2022 – Energy to Expect & Tips for Celebrating and Eating your way through it

The June Solstice occurs when the Sun moves into the sign of Cancer; marking the start of Winter if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere and Summer if you’re in the Northern Hemisphere (more on both below).

In Astrology terms, the 4 seasons of the year are heralded by two Solstices (Summer/Winter) and two Equinoxes (Spring/Autumn). Each season being approximately 3 months or 12 weeks.

The Energy of the June Solstice 2022

You’ll be motivated by change and growth as we move through the next 3 months of the year, as signified by:

  • A stellium of Aries energy
  • Uranus on the North Node
  • A Moon/Jupiter conjunction squaring the Sun … as he makes his way into Cancer.

Saturn squaring the nodes imbues you with the self-discipline to go after what you want.

Whilst both Saturn and Jupiter will be travelling retrograde for much of this quarter reminding that inner work can light the way to external growth.

The start of Winter for the Southern Hemisphere – Signified by the shortest day of the year.

From this point on, (if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere), your days will gradually increase in light as you move towards your Summer Solstice in December.

But for now, the focus is on your internal World; drawing your energy inward.

As we draw closer to the June Solstice 2022, the energy heightens and feels very ethereal. Schedule some down time in the week leading up to June 21st and welcome it in.

Things to do:

  • Light an outdoor fire and sit around it roasting marshmallows, drinking Ginger and Chili Hot Chocolate and connecting with your loved ones.
  • Rug up in warm clothes and blankets, grab some pillows to lie on and watch the stars
  • Head out on a nature walk or bike ride

From this point on, if you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, you’ll gradually experience decreased light until you reach your Winter Solstice in December
