The Full Moon on 28th July is the second of three Eclipses, which will fall over July and August.
Where is the Lunar Energy likely to impact you?
Those of you who have my E-Book (Introductory Tips for Astrological Self Awareness) might like to check the house axis over which these eclipses will fall, as this is a good indicator of which area of life you are likely to feel the greatest effect.
The significant degrees for this second eclipse are: 4 degrees, 44 seconds of Aquarius and 4 degrees, 44 seconds of Leo
Which house axis (areas of life) does that activate within your personal chart?
The Eclipses that fall during July both belong to Saros Series ‘2 Old North’. This energy, according to Bernadette Brady in her book: “The Eagle and The Lark”, is concerned with:
“Bringing unfortunate news concerning friendships and relationships – separation, end of union.
Although the onset of this Eclipse can bring a little chaos, the results can be positive.
Swift action taken now can lead to positive outcomes.
It’s time to take action on what is not working within your personal relationships.”
The Urge to Break Free
As a total lunar eclipse, and with the Sun and Moon forming a T Square with the narrowing Mars/Uranus square, this is a strong and potentially volatile Full Moon.
Whereas a solar eclipse can trigger changes preceded by an external event or person, lunar eclipses tend to illuminate the internal emotional landscape; leading to potential changes that are initiated from within.
Uranus energy can be erratic, sudden and unpredictable and with this Full Moon falling in Aquarius the urge to break free of restriction and the possibility of rebellion are likely.
Anything that you perceive as holding you back, ‘boring’ or suppressing will likely come to the fore around this Full Moon – be that in your significant relationship, friendship group(s), family circle or work environment.
With Uranus squaring This Full Moon and the Nodes change is likely, but a confrontation with the inner landscape will probably be necessary before that occurs (see doubts and fears below).
Squares tend to bring discomfort, but they also compel us to make those changes happen.
Saturn’s inconjunct to the Sun and Uranus Trine Saturn give the discipline and responsibility needed for holding the space whilst making structured, long range and well-thought out adjustments – perhaps re-working something and laying firmer foundations.
Saturn energy usually takes time (especially to be expected with so much retrograde activity occurring) and usually comes with labour, so don’t expect this to feel easy.
Reactivity, Working for the Group and Forgiveness
If you’ve been attempting to suppress or ignore hurt feelings, then it will be harder to do so around this Full Moon.
With the Moon conjunct Mars and square to Uranus, reactivity could be an issue.
This is, however, a great Full Moon for taking a deep dive into emotionally tender spots; to work with releasing resentment and to let old grievances go through forgiveness.
For some, the calling to work as part of a team, on behalf of a group or to get involved in humanitarian endeavours could be strong.
Powerful Love, Creative Work and the Need to Shine
The Pluto/Venus trine indicates that existing relationships could deepen now and any new relationship(s) occurring around this lunar eclipse will potentially carry an emotionally powerful attraction and a destined quality to them.
This is more likely for those with planets between 19 and 20 degrees within their personal natal chart.
On the other hand, Mars Retrograde is traditionally not the best time to enter a new intimate relationship, so it’s wise to keep in mind that things may change when Mars once again moves direct during September.
This energy might also be channelled into a creative and/or Artistic endeavour, which could be an important feature during July with the Sun conjunct the North Node in Leo at this second eclipse.
This is a great time to commit to rethinking and reworking a heartfelt dream.
The need to be seen and to shine for who you really are is likely to be important.
Doubts and Fears
What can you now release in to move more into your full expression?
Perhaps self-sabotage or those niggling fears that keep you from going after what you want?
Or maybe low self-worth is at the bottom of this?
How can you share more of your innate gifts with others and what do you first need to clear psychologically to move to that space?
Aquarian Full Moons can illuminate where we might feel different, lonely or outcast. Where we may not feel we ‘fit in’.
They can also highlight impractical solutions and where one might be a little fanatical.
Spiritual Growth/Broadening of Horizons/Beware of Overwhelm
With the Neptune/Jupiter trine remaining active in the chart, idealism could be strong as could the quest for greater spiritual growth and a broadening of the horizons.
Jupiter’s now-direct motion is likely to be a welcome boost.
Whichever house (area of life) Jupiter has been moving through in your personal chart is where you may now see some momentum gather and where an extra touch of optimism may be experienced.
If you have any planets at 16 degrees within your birth chart; especially of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) and especially the personal planets and luminaries (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars), then it’s advisable to take things gently, as it could be easy to feel overwhelmed, as Neptune continues to activate this degree.
Discord and Cutting Ties
Issues with groups; including the family group could arise to be worked through now.
Where separation has occurred through a close personal relationship, feelings of rejection, being ‘different’ and/or ‘cut off’ may arise.
And some may feel that the only way to deal with discord is to shun those people or groups altogether.
In some cases, this may be applicable; especially where the other person/people have refused to work through any issues or their actions are harmful to you in some way (i.e. physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually).
However, be mindful of ‘throwing the baby out with the bathwater’ in those relationships that can be salvaged, worked through and eventually deepened/enhanced.
